Bharti Airtel appoints Rohit Malhotra as CEO - Karnataka

Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of Rohit Malhotra as CEO of the company's B2C operations in Karnataka circle.

The former CEO of Bharti Airtel telemedia services, Rohit holds a degree in management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and brings to the table over 19 years of experience. In the past, Rohit has held several prestigious positions across various reputed com



anies like Madura Coats, Spice Telecom, Reliance Infocomm & Pantaloon Retail. His past experience puts him in the perfect position to provide his leadership and vision to take Bharti airtel mobile services to the next level.

He will report to Vineet Taneja, Operations Director - South & Sri Lanka. This is in line with the new organization structure that Bharti Airtel recently announced for its India and South Asia operations.

Announcing the appointment, Mr. Vineet Taneja, Operations Director - South & Sri Lanka, Bharti Airtel said, "I am delighted to have Rohit Malhotra take charge as CEO - Karnataka circle. The rich and varied experience that Rohit brings with him will surely be an added value to our organisation and will help us leverage our current operations. His experience and perspective will be vital for us in this phase of transition and we are confident that he will successfully lead our operations in Karnataka".

Bharti Airtel's new structure, effective August 1, 2011 is aimed at driving greater business and functional synergies, providing a common interface to customers, and creating a de-layered and more agile organization.

In addition, the new structure will provide more meaningful, empowered roles and enhance employee engagement. Bharti Airtel's transformed organization structure has two distinct Customer Business Units (CBU) with clear focus on B2C (Business to Customer) and B2B (Business to Business) segments.
