About Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT)
Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) was established by the name of Delhi Institute
of Technology (DIT) in July 1983.Started with a view to churn out highly competent, intelligent and dedicated
engineers, the institute has more than achieved its motto by emerging as one of the leading tech schools of the
country. Unlike the clich©d saying that engineers are not created but are born , NSIT does a commendable job in
training students to achieve excellence in technical research as well as a hoard of extra-curricular activities.

are born , NSIT does a commendable job in training students to achieve excellence in technical research as well as
a hoard of extra-curricular activities. NSIT is located in outer area of Western Delhi. The parts around the campus
are relatively under-developed. Although the upcoming houses/colonies in the Dwarka sectors will be ready for
occupation in a few months, things could take time.
The NSIT campus is located in Dwarka, in South West
Delhi.The campus is spread over 150 acres (0.61 km2). The campus has a separate Administrative building and
Academic buildings for various departments. The campus has three boys' hostels and a girls' hostel.
Sports
facilities present in campus include a football ground, cricket ground, table tennis rooms, gymnasium etc.The Delhi
government has proposed a Science and Technology park at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology with the key
objective being to 'establish Delhi as the hub of the knowledge industry'.
NSIT Delhi Admission
2011:-
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR B.E. ADMISSION (2011-12)
A candidate who has passed any of the
following qualifying examinations from a recognized School/ College/Institute located within NCT of Delhi (for
Delhi Region candidates) or located outside NCT of Delhi (for Outside Delhi Region candidates) only and securing 60
% or more marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, shall be eligible to apply for admission to
the first semester of Bachelor of Engineering Courses provided he has passed in each subject in one of the
following examinations separately:
(i) Senior School Certificate Examination (12-year course) of the Central
Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.), New Delhi.
(ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year course)
of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
(iii) Any other examination recognized as
equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E. by the University of Delhi.
A candidate
must additionally have passed English as a subject of study either at the 10th Class level or 12th Class level
(core or elective).
Note:-
(i) Candidate who has appeared at the appropriate qualifying annual
Examination mentioned above of the year 2011 and placed in compartment will not be eligible for admission for the
year 2011-2012.
(ii) Candidate who has appeared at the appropriate qualifying annual Examination mentioned above
of the year 2011 and reappeared for the improvement to acquire the eligibility will not be considered for admission
for the year 2011-2012.
(iii) No admission will be made directly to the second or any subsequent semester of the
course.
(iv) No change of branch will be permitted after the commencement of the second semester, even if some
seats fall vacant in some of the branches during the course of second semester.
(v) No admission will be made
after 31.08.2011 without prior approval of the competent authority.
RELAXATION IN MARKS FOR RESERVED
CATEGORIES:-
Candidates belonging to the following categories, who apply for seats reserved for them, shall
be allowed a relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements of marks in the qualifying examination as detailed
below:
(i) SCHEDULED CASTES (SC) AND SCHEDULED TRIBES (ST):- Candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes and
Scheduled Tribes shall be allowed 10 percent relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements of marks in the
aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination as mentioned above.
(ii)
CHILDREN OF DEFENCE CATEGORY (DC):- Candidate under this category shall be allowed relaxation of five percent in
the minimum eligibility requirements of marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the
qualifying examinations as mentioned above.
(iii) PHYSICALLY CHALLANGED (PH):- Candidate belonging to
Physically Challenged category shall be allowed 5% relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirements of marks in
the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examinations as mentioned above.
AGE
REQUIREMENT:- Candidate must be 17 years of age on or before the first day of October of the year in which he seeks
admission. Relaxation in minimum age with the prior approval of the Vice-Chancellor is permissible at the time of
admission.
Admission Procedure:- NSIT will hold Counseling (application to be filled online) for admission
to 1st year B.E. (Full-time) based on All India rank of AIEEE–2011 results.
